Liska Biometry has recently received FIPS 201 approval from the US Federal Government for its suite of DCS5000 image capture platforms that use a standardized digital camera. Also, the Company has received FIPS approval for its Facial Recognition Middleware. The suite is also capable of producing International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) compliant portraits. Liska’s FIPS-approved “Middleware for Facial Recognition” works with all of Liska’s camera environments.
Liska biometry gave a good explanation of what exactly middleware is. “Middleware is the software that organizes the portraits in the correct FIPS format, and ensures that the streaming of all images or transmission of all images is done in the exact same manner. With all FIPS programs there are two portraits (images) that are stored and filed, and therefore, all parties sending and receiving these images need to understand that the format is correct for not only the image but how the images are organized.”
